Smith Micro announced the upcoming launch of SafePath 8, the next-generation evolution of its family safety platform, planned for 2025. This major release will introduce a suite of AI-driven features designed to enhance digital safety and management for families. The new capabilities will be available across the full SafePath ecosystem, including SafePath Kids rate plan solution, over-the-top apps, and SafePath OS-powered phones.

Key AI features include Social Media Intelligence, which will automatically notify parents of potential concerns like cyberbullying, hate speech, profanity, and self-harm in children's social media activity. A Dynamic Age-Aware Platform will automatically configure age-appropriate settings for content filters and screen time limits based on a child's age group. SafePath 8 also plans to introduce AI Chatbot/Tool Blocking, allowing parents to limit children's access to AI chatbots.

Additionally, a Family AI Assistant is planned to use large language models to provide parents with valuable insights about family activities in both digital and physical worlds. The platform will also include a Digital Wellness Resource Website, offering curated online resources for child online safety. These innovations aim to empower parents with intelligent tools and proactive protection for their families.
