Synovus Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) jointly awarded a $500,000 grant to Georgia Heirs Property Law Center Inc. on May 29, 2025. This grant is part of FHLBank Atlanta’s 2024 Heirs Property Family Wealth Protection Fund.
The funds will be utilized to prevent and resolve heirs’ property issues, which arise when property is passed down without clear wills or estate plans. This problem limits families' ability to build generational wealth and impacts community revitalization efforts.
The Georgia Heirs Property Law Center provides direct legal services to low- and moderate-income Georgians, including title clearing, estate planning, and asset education. This grant will empower thousands of families to preserve and protect their inheritances.
