Shutterstock, Inc. announced the appointment of Matt Furlong as its new Chief Marketplace Officer, effective Monday, January 13. Furlong, previously the CEO of GameStop and a veteran of Amazon, will join Shutterstock's executive leadership team.
In his new role, Furlong will be responsible for shaping the overall strategy, operations, and growth of Shutterstock's Marketplace division. This division encompasses the company's individual user products and solutions across various e-commerce platforms.
Paul Hennessy, CEO of Shutterstock, stated that Furlong's extensive leadership experience and deep operational expertise will be a valuable asset. Furlong will also oversee the alignment of business goals across Shutterstock's creative content brands, including PremiumBeat, Pond5, and TurboSquid, and manage the Global Customer Success team.
