Silvercorp Metals Inc. provided a progress report on its El Domo Project in Ecuador, confirming the target of bringing the project into production in the second half of 2026. The company has awarded Bid Package 1, covering earthworks for site preparation, roads, channels, tailings storage facility (TSF), and saprolite waste dump (SWD), to CRCC 14 Bureau Group CO., Ltd.
Since acquiring Adventus Mining Corporation in July 2024, Silvercorp has streamlined Ecuadorian operations, maintained community engagement, and advanced detailed engineering. This includes optimizing designs for the TSF, process plant site, and open pit, as well as commencing metallurgical test work for potentially higher recoveries.
Further project infrastructure advancements include optimized designs for public bypass and internal haul roads, execution of a powerline contract with CNEL EP, and permitting for standby diesel power generation. The company plans to award Bid Packages 2 and 3 in Q1 2025 to maintain the project schedule.
