Synaptics Incorporated announced on December 10, 2024, the extension of its Veros™ IoT connectivity family with the SYN20708 dual-core system on chip (SoC). This new SoC supports Bluetooth® 5.4 and IEEE 802.15.4, and is Matter-compliant.
The SYN20708 allows for concurrent support of Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Zigbee®, and Thread protocols on both cores, enabling simultaneous connections to multiple endpoints in diverse network environments. It is designed for applications requiring low latency, superior range, low power, and seamless interoperability with minimal system cost and design complexity.
Specific target applications include dedicated home hubs, soundbars, automotive infotainment systems, and control panels across consumer, automotive, healthcare, and industrial sectors. The SYN20708 is available now, enhancing Synaptics' leadership in flexible and robust IoT connectivity solutions.
