Toyota Boshoku America announced on December 1 2025 that it has acquired full ownership of its Tennessee joint venture, TBDN Tennessee Company, LLC, and will rename the plant Toyota Boshoku Jackson Tennessee, LLC. The move gives the company complete control over a facility that has produced automotive powertrain components—air cleaners, oil filters and intake manifolds—since 1990.

The Jackson plant has a 35‑year legacy of supplying high‑quality filtration and powertrain parts to Toyota Motor Corporation’s North American vehicle platforms. The rebranding honors that history while signaling a new era of full ownership and integrated operations.

Strategically, the acquisition strengthens Toyota Boshoku America’s domestic supply‑chain footprint. By consolidating the Tennessee facility, the company can streamline decision‑making, accelerate product innovation, and deepen its commitment to local manufacturing—key pillars of Toyota’s broader supply‑chain strategy.

Shunichi Iwamori, President & CEO of Toyota Boshoku America, said the partnership with DENSO has been “instrumental” and that the full acquisition “will allow us to streamline decision‑making, accelerate innovation, and enhance service to our customers.” Shuhei Yoshida, former President of TBDN, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing continuity of the dedicated team and the plant’s long‑standing community ties.

Employees at the Jackson site will remain under Toyota Boshoku America’s management, with no immediate changes to staffing or benefits. The company has pledged to maintain the plant’s quality standards and production capacity, ensuring a seamless transition for its automotive customers.

The transaction positions Toyota Boshoku America to better serve North American customers and reinforces its commitment to local manufacturing, aligning with Toyota Motor Corporation’s goal of a resilient, domestically focused supply chain. The acquisition is expected to enhance operational efficiency and support the company’s long‑term growth strategy in the U.S. market.
