Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. and Dexcom, Inc. announced that the t:slim X2 insulin pump is now fully compatible with both the Dexcom G7 and Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems in Canada. This follows the recent authorization of sale by Health Canada. The t:slim X2 is now the first and only insulin pump in Canada integrated with both Dexcom G6 and Dexcom G7.
This commercial availability is a result of a decade-long partnership between Tandem and Dexcom, aimed at advancing automated insulin delivery (AID) systems. The integration provides t:slim X2 users in Canada with a range of innovative tools to simplify diabetes management and enhance their quality of life. Dexcom G7 offers a 30-minute sensor warm-up time, which is faster than any other CGM on the market.
In-warranty t:slim X2 users in Canada will receive instructions via email on how to add the new compatibility feature free of charge through a remote software update. New customers will begin receiving t:slim X2 pumps pre-loaded with the updated software in early January 2025. This expansion of CGM compatibility broadens the appeal and functionality of Tandem's AID system in the Canadian market.
