Trex has broadened its Michigan distribution footprint by adding the Jackson and Traverse City Amerhart distribution centers to its partnership with Specialty Building Products (SBP). The move extends state‑wide coverage and gives Trex’s channel partners and contractors easier access to the company’s composite decking, railing, and fastener lines.
The expansion builds on a long‑standing national collaboration between Trex and SBP, reinforcing the company’s presence in the Midwest—a key market for its products. By leveraging SBP’s established logistics network, Trex can reduce lead times and improve inventory availability for contractors across Michigan.
The decision follows Trex’s Q3 2025 earnings report, in which the company missed revenue and earnings expectations. Management has identified channel efficiency and product availability as critical levers for growth, and the expanded distribution network is intended to address gaps that may have contributed to the recent earnings miss and to counter competitive pressure in the region.
While Trex has not disclosed specific sales projections tied to the expansion, the company’s strategy is to increase market share in the Midwest by ensuring that its products are readily available to contractors and retailers. The broader distribution network is expected to translate into higher sales volume and stronger channel relationships over the coming quarters.
Kevin Brennan, Trex’s Vice President of North American Professional Sales, said the Midwest has “always been Trex territory” and that the partnership will “further our growth for years to come.” Ashley Kay, Chief Commercial Officer at SBP, highlighted the long‑standing relationship and the mutual benefits of the expanded coverage.
The expansion aligns with Trex’s broader strategy to grow in key markets and to strengthen its distribution footprint. By deepening its partnership with SBP, Trex aims to offset the recent earnings miss with a more robust channel network that supports future sales growth.
