Tesla Recalls 6,197 Cybertrucks Over Detachable Light Bars

Tesla has recalled 6,197 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023 and November 5, 2024 because an off‑road light bar can detach from the windshield due to improper adhesive. This is the 10th recall for the model.

Tesla will replace or secure the light bars free of charge, offering a mechanical attachment or tape. The recall covers roughly 10% of the Cybertruck fleet sold to date.

The recall follows a pattern of quality issues that have affected the Cybertruck since its launch, including rattling panels, misaligned trim, malfunctioning tailgates, and defective glass. Over 600 warranty claims have been filed, and the vehicle’s sales have fallen below expectations, with quarterly deliveries around 5,000 units versus a planned capacity of 10,000.

Tesla’s management said the company is working to improve quality control and has increased inspection of the light bar assembly. The recall is part of a broader effort to address recurring defects and restore confidence in the Cybertruck lineup.

Tesla reported Q3 2025 revenue of $28.1 billion, up 12% year‑over‑year, but operating income fell 40% year‑over‑year to $1.6 billion, reflecting higher costs and quality‑related expenses. The Cybertruck recall adds to the company’s cost pressures.
