Twilio Unveils Next-Gen Customer Engagement Platform at SIGNAL São Paulo, Announces ConversationRelay General Availability

Twilio previewed its next-generation flexible platform at SIGNAL São Paulo, optimized for AI- and data-powered customer engagement. The company announced enhanced Customer Data Platform (CDP) capabilities and Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) updates, including new conversational AI tools and trusted communications channels. A significant announcement was the general availability of ConversationRelay, a conversational AI capability that enables developers to create robust natural voice AI agents using their choice of LLM. Conversational Intelligence is also now generally available for voice and in private beta for messaging, analyzing interactions to improve efficiency. Twilio reiterated plans to bring Rich Communication Services (RCS) to general availability in the coming months, WhatsApp Business Calling to general availability later this year, and a Compliance Toolkit to public beta. Data Residency for Email (EU) is set for general availability in July, with Data Residency for SMS (EU) in private beta in the second half of 2025. The company also highlighted major updates to Segment CDP, including a fully redesigned Journeys architecture inside Twilio Engage with new Public Beta features like Event-Triggered Journeys for real-time personalization. Latin American Excellence in Engagement awards were also announced, recognizing regional customer innovation.
