Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. company, announced on November 4, 2024, a signed purchase agreement for the sale of a second Bell 505 helicopter to the Fort Worth Police Department. This acquisition expands the department's existing all-Bell public safety fleet.
The Fort Worth Police Department Air Support Unit has a long-standing relationship with Bell, utilizing various Bell aircraft since its inception, including Bell 47s and Bell 206 Jet Rangers. The first Bell 505 was delivered to the department in 2021.
The newly purchased Bell 505 will enable the department to increase its public safety presence, supporting versatile missions such as search and rescue. The aircraft's wide panoramic windows, open cabin design, and Synthetic Vision technology enhance aerial crews' ability to relay critical information to ground officers.
