Textron Aviation, in collaboration with Aeromot Aeronaves and Motores S.A., announced on March 27, 2025, a Cooperation Agreement to develop an in-air openable jump/cargo drop door for Cessna Caravan aircraft. The development will take place at the Aeromot facility in Brazil.
Textron Aviation will provide technical and engineering data to enable Aeromot to develop a Brazilian Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation. This STC is expected to be available to the worldwide fleet of Cessna Caravan aircraft, enhancing its versatility.
Bob Gibbs, vice president, Special Missions Sales, noted that Brazil is home to over 200 Cessna Caravans, used by general aviation, commercial operators, the Brazilian Air Force, and State Police organizations. This new option will benefit customers globally and support employment opportunities in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
