Under Armour, Inc. announced a reassessment of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction strategy and targets. The company will not pursue Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) re-validation of its 2030 goal or validation of its 2050 net-zero commitment at this time.

Previously, Under Armour had set bold targets, including transitioning all energy use in its owned and operated facilities to 100% renewable sources by 2030 and reducing absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 30% by 2030. The company cited evolving business and sustainability strategies, along with new challenges and opportunities, as reasons for this reassessment.

While the company remains agile in its approach, it affirmed its unwavering commitment to core values and continuous improvement in navigating environmental and business complexities. This strategic pause indicates a recalibration of its sustainability roadmap, which may draw scrutiny from environmentally conscious investors and consumers.
