United States Antimony Corporation announced on December 20, 2024, the completion of contractual negotiations and the execution of a definitive agreement for new international shipments of antimony from Australia. This new supply is a crucial step in feeding the company's processing facilities. In conjunction with the new ore supply, UAMY also announced plans to restart its antimony smelter located in Madero, Mexico. This facility had been shut down in March 2024 due to a lack of economically viable antimony material. The company is undertaking capital improvements to the Madero smelter, estimated to cost less than $1 million, including refractory relining and maintenance work. The Madero smelter has an engineered production capacity of approximately 200 tons per month, with the first inbound shipments from Australia anticipated to arrive in March 2025.
