Uranium Energy Corp (UEC) announced on October 17, 2024, that it received approval from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Uranium Recovery Program, to increase the licensed production capacity at its Irigaray Central Processing Plant to 4.0 million pounds of U3O8 annually. The Irigaray Plant serves as a cornerstone of UEC's hub-and-spoke production strategy in Wyoming's Powder River Basin, supporting four fully permitted ISR satellite projects, including the producing Christensen Ranch project. Engineering work is already in progress, and key equipment, such as a filter press, has been acquired to facilitate this increase in output. This expansion is a major achievement that aligns with the compelling industry drivers, including the extraordinary growth in nuclear power demand in the U.S. Upon closing the previously announced acquisition of Rio Tinto's Wyoming assets, UEC will have a combined U.S. licensed production capacity of 12.1 million pounds of U3O8 per year.
