UFP Industries announced on March 31, 2025, the acquisition of a 30-acre site in Lackawanna, New York, to establish a new state-of-the-art facility for its Deckorators brand. This $77 million investment is specifically designed to double the production capacity for Deckorators' Surestone® mineral-based composite decking product.
The new facility, encompassing approximately 240,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space, is a critical component of a larger $250 million plan over the next five years to expand the Deckorators product line. This significant capital allocation highlights the company's commitment to its proprietary Surestone technology, which has already expanded market presence to 1,500 retail locations.
Construction on the Lackawanna site is slated to commence in April 2025, with full operational status expected by the end of 2025. The project is projected to create approximately 60 new jobs in production support, logistics, and administration, further solidifying Deckorators' position in the outdoor living products market.
