Uniti Group Inc. announced a new 20-year contract award from a strategic hyperscale customer in Montgomery, Alabama, an existing enterprise market for Uniti. This agreement underscores the strong demand for AI-optimized infrastructure where Uniti has an operational presence and access to necessary land and power.
Under the terms of the contract, Uniti will construct 90 route miles of new multi-conduit systems and high-strand count fiber cables. This new infrastructure will establish a ring configuration within the Montgomery metropolitan area, connecting key data center locations and points-of-presence.
The new route will also facilitate connections from long-haul routes to the metro infrastructure, including the recently announced Mobile to Montgomery route. Expected delivery of these fiber rings is scheduled throughout late 2025 and into early 2026, enhancing Uniti's network capabilities for high-demand customers.
