Energy Fuels Inc. announced on August 21, 2025, the successful completion of its first kilogram of dysprosium (Dy) oxide production at pilot scale at the White Mesa Mill in Utah. The company achieved an impressive purity of 99.9% Dy, surpassing the 99.5% commercial specification.
This achievement positions Energy Fuels as the first U.S. company to publicly disclose actual production volumes and purities for high-purity Dy oxide. The production, sourced from monazite mined in Florida and Georgia, demonstrates the viability of a completely non-Chinese rare earth oxide supply chain.
Pilot-scale production is expected to continue until approximately 15 kilograms of Dy oxide are produced, after which the company plans to target high-purity terbium (Tb) oxide production in Q4-2025. Energy Fuels intends to construct commercial-scale Dy, Tb, and other heavy rare earth separation capacity at the White Mesa Mill as soon as Q4 2026.
