On October 24, 2025, Venture Global announced that the U.S. Department of Energy granted the final non‑FTA export authorization for its CP2 LNG facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The approval clears the last regulatory hurdle, allowing the project to export liquefied natural gas to countries outside of U.S. free‑trade agreements.

The authorization expands Venture Global’s export portfolio, enabling sales to a broader range of international buyers and strengthening the company’s position in the global LNG market. It also supports the creation of thousands of jobs in the Gulf Coast region and is expected to improve the U.S. trade balance by increasing LNG exports to non‑FTA partners.

Construction of the CP2 facility is already underway, with the company projecting the first LNG cargoes to be shipped in 2027. The project’s modular construction approach is designed to accelerate delivery and reduce costs, positioning Venture Global to capture market share ahead of competitors.

CEO Mike Sabel expressed gratitude for the Trump Administration’s approval, emphasizing that the CP2 project will supply low‑cost LNG to American allies for decades and that the company is committed to advancing the project safely and quickly to bring new LNG to the global market at a record pace.
