On May 9, 2025, Viking Holdings Ltd announced the 'float out' of its newest ship for the Nile River, the 82-guest Viking Thoth. This event, which took place at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, signifies a major construction milestone as the ship was moved into its final stage of construction.
The Viking Thoth is scheduled for delivery in October 2025 and will join Viking’s expanding fleet on the Nile River, sailing the popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. This new vessel will be Viking’s eighth river vessel in Egypt.
The addition of the Viking Thoth, along with the Viking Amun also debuting in 2025, underscores Viking's commitment to expanding its fleet in Egypt. The company plans to welcome a total of four new ships in Egypt in the next two years, bringing its Nile fleet to 12 vessels by 2027.
