Cespira Appoints Carlos Gonzalez as President and CEO to Lead HPDI Joint Venture

Cespira, the High Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) joint venture between Westport Fuel Systems and Volvo Group, has appointed Carlos Gonzalez as its new President and CEO. His appointment is effective April 1, 2025, marking a new phase of leadership for the critical venture.

Mr. Gonzalez succeeds Dan Sceli, CEO of Westport, who served as interim President and CEO since the joint venture's closing in June 2024. Mr. Sceli will continue to serve on Cespira's board, maintaining continuity and strategic oversight.

Carlos Gonzalez brings over 24 years of experience in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry across Europe, including 12 years as a leader at ZF Group. His background in business development and supply chain management is expected to be instrumental in guiding Cespira's growth and success in decarbonizing heavy-duty transportation.
