Aqua Texas, a subsidiary of Essential Utilities, announced the implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to help customers improve water conservation. This digital meter technology allows customers to track their water usage in near-real-time via smartphones, tablets, or computers. Customers can set alerts for pre-determined usage limits, which helps in quickly identifying potential leaks within their homes. This upgrade is part of Aqua Texas's goal to conserve water in the Wimberley Valley and provides greater transparency for customers regarding their water consumption. In addition to AMI, Aqua Texas has begun phase 2 of a $4 million water main replacement project in Wimberley Valley, replacing over 25,000 feet of outdated water mains. These initiatives underscore the company's commitment to modernizing infrastructure and promoting sustainable water use.
