XCharge has expanded its field‑testing program with EnBW by deploying ten battery‑integrated DC fast‑charging units across four German sites as of December 22 2025. Two units are installed at EnBW’s Stuttgart City location, with the remaining eight spread between Rutesheim, Karlsruhe’s Durlach Center, and Karlsruhe’s central train station.

The new units are XCharge’s C7 Ultra‑Fast Charger, which delivers up to 400 kW and features dual CCS connectors and a modular design that allows for rapid scaling and integration with existing infrastructure. The 400 kW rating places the C7 among the highest‑power chargers available in Europe, enabling 80 % charge times in under 15 minutes for 350 kW‑rated battery packs.

For XCharge, the partnership signals that its technology has met the stringent performance and safety standards of Germany’s largest high‑power charging network. EnBW’s strategy of diversifying its supplier base means that XCharge’s solution is now part of a broader portfolio, positioning the company to capture a share of the rapidly expanding European EV‑charging market where grid constraints drive demand for off‑grid capable solutions.

While the deployment is a positive milestone, XCharge’s broader financial picture remains challenging. Recent data indicate negative profitability metrics and a distressed Altman Z‑Score, underscoring the company’s need to convert technology validation into commercial revenue. The EnBW partnership therefore represents a critical step toward turning a proven product into a scalable, revenue‑generating asset.

"Germany remains a key market for us, and we continue to expand our presence here," said Albina Iljasov, Head of Europe at XCharge. "Working with EnBW, the largest Charge Point Operator in Germany, demonstrates that our technology meets the high standards of the country’s leading fast‑charging network and supports the development of reliable high‑power infrastructure."

EnBW’s chief technology officer, Volker Rimpler, added, "XCharge has shown good capability across technology, service, data protection, and software, and has met our requirements throughout the evaluation process. We have analyzed several thousand charging processes in the laboratory and continuously developed the hardware and software based on this."

The European EV‑charging market is projected to reach $34 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 25.9%. Grid constraints and the need for off‑grid solutions are accelerating demand for battery‑integrated chargers like XCharge’s Net Zero Series and GridLink. The partnership with EnBW therefore not only validates XCharge’s technology but also aligns the company with a key market trend that could drive future commercial deployments.
