Yelp Inc. today released its 2024 Trust & Safety Report, detailing the extensive measures taken to protect the integrity and quality of content on its platform. The report highlights Yelp's efforts to combat review manipulation and ensure genuine user experiences.
In 2024, Yelp warned consumers of nearly 550 businesses involved in review manipulation. The company's proactive measures led to the removal of over 47,900 inappropriate reviews and the closure of over 551,200 user accounts for policy violations.
Yelp enhanced its automated recommendation software to better surface reliable reviews and leveraged AI to automate the identification of inappropriate content and bad actors. A new "Consumer Alerts History" section was introduced on Yelp business pages in February 2025 to warn users about compensated or suspicious review activity.
