Yum China Holdings, Inc. announced the pilot launch of 'Q-Smart,' a new hands-free AI-enabled assistant designed for restaurant managers. This tool is intended to help frontline managers efficiently manage a wide array of daily tasks, including labor scheduling, inventory management, and food quality and safety inspections.
Q-Smart allows managers to interact with the system hands-free using wearable devices such as wireless earphones and smartwatches, which enhances operational efficiencies by freeing up their hands from traditional touch screens or PCs. The system uses natural language processing to understand and respond to voice commands, providing real-time support and solutions for urgent operational issues.
The pilot program for Q-Smart is currently underway at select KFC stores, with plans for a larger-scale rollout following the incorporation of user feedback. Yum China CEO Joey Wat also announced the establishment of a 100 million yuan (US$13.9 million) Frontline Innovation Fund to further support technology applications and employee-driven innovation.
