CenterPoint Energy crews are actively assessing damage and making repairs to its electric system after severe storms moved through southwestern Indiana overnight. The storm system brought wind gusts up to 60 mph, causing impacts across the company's electric system.
As of 2:30 p.m. on March 15, approximately 1,600 customers remained without power. Damage assessments are ongoing, with crews focused on downed power lines, damaged poles, and other storm-related impacts.
Additional rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected, which could cause changes in outage numbers and potentially delay safe restoration efforts. CenterPoint is prioritizing critical infrastructure and repairs that restore service to the greatest number of customers first.
