CenterPoint Energy is responding to Texas Governor Greg Abbott's State of Emergency Declaration for severe winter weather forecasted to impact much of West and East Texas. The company is continually monitoring changing weather, deploying cold weather mitigations, and mobilizing emergency response resources.
CenterPoint's enhanced Emergency Response and Preparedness team is coordinating with relevant local emergency responders and government officials. The company has a cold weather action plan in place and is proactively making preparations to respond to potential electric and natural gas service issues.
At this time, CenterPoint does not foresee major winter impacts to its infrastructure. The company has completed its winter preparedness checklist and submitted its annual declarations of winter readiness to ERCOT and the Railroad Commission of Texas.
