On December 12, 2024, Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Americold Realty Trust announced plans to formally explore co-development opportunities in Mexico. This initiative is part of their ongoing strategic collaboration focused on optimizing temperature-sensitive commodity flows across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

The partnership builds on a strategic collaboration established in June 2023, which aims to enhance temperature-controlled logistics throughout North America. CPKC provides single-line, expedited intermodal freight transportation, complemented by its TempPro™ temperature-protected intermodal containers.

Americold, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, is already developing a 335,000-square-foot, $127 million import-export hub at CPKC's Intermodal Facility in Kansas City, Missouri, expected to open mid-2025. This expansion into Mexico further leverages CPKC's network to support the cold storage supply chain and create new transportation options for customers.
